Digger Bus Tour
Recently it was brought to the attention of President of Robina Lions John Clark, that Kenneth Steward, an Ex-serviceman from World War 2, had a great wish to pay his respects to his fallen mates that he served with at Milne Bay.
President John discovered that such a memorial was in place at TOOWOOMBA and therefore made arrangements for a bus load of 54 Lions from Gold Coast clubs, accompanied by 4 elderly diggers to go on a day’s trip to pay their respects with the diggers to the Toowoomba Service Memorial Museum at the army barracks.
A wonderful trip made even more special by the Lions of Toowoomba and surrounding clubs who provided a great lunch and enjoyed a great fellowship with their fellow Lions.
It made the Diggers so happy, Said President John, and we all could say we fulfilled our Lions Motto. of “We SERVE.â€
